Barcelona are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Benfica defender Nelson Semedo amid keen interest from Manchester United.
The Red Devils were said to be in talks with Benfica since last January transfer window, with reports that United wanted to sign defender Victor Lindelof but could not sign the defender after failing to agree a fee with the Portuguese giant.
However, it is believed that Manchester United have agreed a deal with Benfica to sign Semedo since the winter window. The right sided defender has a £69million release clause but it is understood that United are considering a double £83millon deal for the duo of Lindelof and Semedo this summer.
Reports in Portuguese outlet, Record claim that Barcelona are closing in on a £43million for the Portuguese defender and are expected to beat Manchester United to his signature.
Barca have not been able to replace Dani Alves since he left the Camp Nou as a free agent last summer, with reports that the new boss, Erneste Valverde is keen on landing a reliable right-back this summer, Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has also been tipped to make a switch to the Catalan giants but a move for Semedo also could be an ideal option for the Spanish giants.
